10 Big WWE Returns That Could Happen In 2021

5. CM Punk

Is there a more iconic duo than 'articles about wrestling returns' and 'CM Punk'? I'll wait.

Another year will soon be here, and with it comes all the usual bouts of speculation and prognostication. Will this be the year that CM Punk returns to the ring? Is 2021 going to see the return of that most exciting clobbering time? If Punk even does return, will it be in WWE or will he turn up in AEW, NJPW, ROH or somewhere else?

Speculating about CM Punk and professional wrestling is all sorts of fun, so don't expect it to stop anytime soon. We all know about Punk's return to WWE programming in 2019 but he made it abundantly clear that he was working for Fox, not WWE. Has this most rotten of years softened the righteous anger of the Straight Edge Superstar?

Probably not, but never say never. A desperate WWE is a difficult proposition to turn down, after all. As ratings continue to fall and the future looks ever more bleak, whose to say that Vince won't reach out to Punk and offer him the world, righting the wrongs of those frustrating final years?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
