These days, the WWE Universe knows Tommaso Ciampa as the man who triumphed over the Undisputed Era and laughs in the face of adversity but, he hasn't always been a good guy.

DIY was one of the hottest tag teams in the business, first appearing on the WWE landscape in 2015 as a part of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. For two years, the duo dominated the NXT tag division and captured the NXT Tag Team Championships within a year. Both men were at the top of their game and never backed away from a challenge.

However, after unsuccessfully challenging for the titles in the first-ever NXT Tag Team Ladder Match in 2017, Ciampa finally snapped. The team couldn't reclaim the belts and they imploded, as Ciampa attacked Gargano and left him broken in the middle of the ring. His betrayal shattered the hearts of many NXT fans and left a vacuum in the tag division.

Unfortunately, 'The Blackheart' suffered an injury which left him out of action for months. Once he returned, however, he seemed to be heading to commiserate with his former best friend after an unsuccessful attempt to take the NXT Championship. He hobbled to the ramp, using crutches to support him due to his torn ACL, which ultimately just led the fans in attendance into a false sense of security.

He took one of his crutches and cracked it over the back of his former brother-in-arms, continuing the feud where it left off months prior. Ciampa's heart-wrenching betrayal sits higher on this list due to the emotional investment that the WWE Universe had in the team.
