The former 'Paul E. Dangerously' also broke the hearts of WWE fans around the world with his own betrayal. However, fans of the business and Heyman's former work would not have been too surprised at his actions.

In 2002, Brock Lesnar was up against the Big Show for the WWE Championship, and 'the Beast' had Paul Heyman in his corner. This bout seemed set to be a simple encounter for Lesnar, with Heyman set to distract the referee at any given moment. Of course, he did exactly that...

He took advantage of a break in the match and grabbed the referee's attention, pulling him out of the ring and allowing Big Show to attack Lesnar with a steel chair, cementing his heel turn and destroying his relationship with the 'Beast Incarnate' (for now).

Eleven years later, the 'Voice of the Voice of the Voiceless' was the advocate for CM Punk, as well as Curtis Axel. The former was involved in the Money In The Bank ladder match of 2013, in a star-studded lineup. Each of the superstars in this match were faces at the time, which was unorthodox in its own right. The possibilities were endless going into this match. However, the odds were suddenly stacked against Punk as he tried to climb the ladder, as Heyman appeared in the ring and slammed a ladder repeatedly into his former client until he fell from it.

Given Heyman's past, Punk ought to have expected Paul Heyman to turn on him eventually, but it didn't make this any less shocking at the time.
