An injury would again force WWE to change their plans to have Roman Reigns face Seth Rollins, but this time it would be an injury to Seth Rollins that would prevent their title match at Survivor Series 2015. As a result of this injury, WWE went to their usual Plan B in these situations and held a tournament to determine who the new champion would be.

While many suspected that the tournament would end up in a Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose match, this was one of the instances where WWE should have called an audible when they saw how much love Ambrose was getting.

Face vs. face matches can certainly work on a big stage, but the decision to have Reigns defeat arguably the most over guy on the roster in a match that lasted less than 10 minutes wasn't met with the kind of joyous reaction WWE may have been hoping for.

Given that Sheamus was walking away with the title by the end of the night anyway, throwing Dean Ambrose under the Roman Reigns hype train that was rolling along at the time was detrimental to everyone involved.
