WWE Network's importance to Vince McMahon and WWE cannot be underestimated. It is right up there with his very biggest business moves. Like the 80's territory overhaul and 90's pay-per-view expansion, the Network is what will define Vince McMahon's legacy as a businessman. The importance of it will only grow even more in the long-term, as the scope of the platform in the future is very exciting. WWE got in early with the digital revolution, and the prospect of millions of subscribers could make the Network more than just a platform for what were once traditional pay-per-view events. For now, it is all about the pay-per-views. WWE are having just over a million people a month paying $10 (a month) to watch the PPVs on the Network. It used to be around 100K-200K fans paying via the traditional methods at $50. The Network revenues are growing, but it remains the biggest area of importance to Vince McMahon, as the project is really some way off achieving what they had hoped it initially would. Chances are they'll hit two million subscribers for WrestleMania 32, then dip back down to a number closer to 1.5. When this project first started the hope was for four million subs. Still, the long-term global growth potential is massive, and as of right now the move to digital has been worth it.
