10 Biggest Ever WrestleMania Screw-Jobs

8. Bart Gunn Is Knocked Unconscious By Butterbean In Only 35 Seconds (Brawl For All, WrestleMania 15)

To quote Good Ol' Jim Ross, the Brawl For All was 'one of those ideas that looked really cool on paper'. Jim Cornette has described the concept as 'the stupidest thing that the WWF has ever done'. JBL, who is cited as the person who inadvertently prompted writer Vince Russo to create the tournament, said that it was a 'bad idea'. What was so bad about it, you ask? The whole concept was flawed from its conception, with the Brawl For All being a tournament of legitimate 'shootfighting' featuring WWE wrestlers. The very idea of placing performers who entertain fans in a choreographed spectacle into an environment in which they genuinely fought each other is ridiculous, and it resulted in a number of costly injuries to WWE superstars. Bart Gunn (mostly known for his time as one half of The Smoking Gunns), won the tournament by defeating JBL in the final. His reward? $75,000 and a boxing match at WrestleMania 15 with Butterbean, a renowned boxer and mixed martial artist. Gunn was violently knocked unconscious after 35 seconds and soon after was released from his contract. That's a pretty big screw-job. Bart Gunn, we barely knew ye.
