10 Biggest Feel Good WWE Moments This Decade
3. The American Dream Comes Back
If the previous entry was a long time back, this one feels like a lifetime ago. During the first half of the decade, the Authority dominated WWE storylines, much to the chagrin of fans and critics alike. As maligned as they were, Triple H and his suited up cohorts were involved in some of the best angles of the past ten years. One of which, was their persecution of the Rhodes family.
Cody had been fired, Goldust had been fired and if the brothers did not win their tag team match against The Shield at the Battleground pay per view, then Dusty would meet the same fate. In what could only be described now as the height of irony, the Rhodes siblings were left fighting for their careers. And to the surprise of no one, they put on an emotionally gripping contest that had every fan desperate to see them win.
Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins played their part too, providing the perfect bad guys for the heroic babyfaces to overcome. For large parts, the good guys seemed destined to lose, as the presence of Ambrose at ringside kept swinging the tie in favor of the Shield members. That is, until we were treated to a moment that turned back time.
Dusty Rhodes, who was helplessly witnessing everything from a few feet away, suddenly channeled all the energy and passion that had made him one of the all time greats. He grabbed Ambrose, took him out with one of those vintage slobber-knockers and even brought out the old belt to teach the kids some respect. The Rhodes brothers got the win soon afterward, and everyone watching lost their minds. They had all been treated to a moment they would never forget.
