10 Biggest Flops In WWE History
7. Marcus Cor Von
Monty Brown is yet another example of legitimate athlete with proven credentials - both inside the ring and out - who was totally wasted in WWE. In the NFL, 'The Alpha Male' was a SuperBowl runner-up; in TNA, he was a main eventer and championship contender. In WWE, Brown was given a ridiculous name and banished to the purgatory of ECW.
With a run that lasted just six months, WWE's mishandling of the Serengeti superstar was like throwing a flaming torch in the back of a money van. Charismatic, unique and ready-made when he got there, Brown could have walked into Raw or SmackDown, where personalities like Viscera, The Great Khali, and Kenny Dykstra were all still getting notable TV time.
Seeing Monty Brown square off with the likes of Umaga on Raw or MVP on SmackDown would have been refreshing for either brand. Instead, Brown was bizarrely renamed as Marcus Cor Von, robbed of his personality, and labelled a member of ECW 'New Breed'. Cor Von even lost to Bobby Lashley, despite the bout being a three on one handicap bout in Cor Von's favour.
Just as things began to look up for 'The Alpha Male', he mysteriously vanished from WWE in mid-2007 - citing "family issues" - and was never heard from again.
