This feud was key in establishing the AEW world title as a prize worth fighting for.
The build saw Rhodes play the role of passionate, sincere, fired up babyface. This worked on its own terms for a fanbase who received him as a hero but also provided the perfect foil for Inner Circle send-ups and p*ss taking.
