1. Adam Cole Gets Stretchered Out
Then, more drama.
Cole was put in a neck brace and stretchered out of the Capitol Wrestling Center as O'Reilly stood looking on at his handiwork. He'd avenged Adam's cold betrayal, and could maybe look forward to his own future without the backdrop of a faction to worry about. That was the story WWE told, at least.
The stretcher job raised multiple questions. Will Cole take some time off from NXT before raging back into view a few months down the line? Is he set to jump over to Raw or SmackDown instead? Could the whole, "he's being rushed to a local medical facility" thing be forgotten about just a few weeks from now?
Anything's possible.
One thing's for sure: TakeOver closing with Cole being tended to by medics was a powerful piece of melodrama, and O'Reilly's scornful look only added to the overall presentation. In short, this was a worthwhile "holy sh*t" ending.
