WWE has made an absolute pig's ear of Shayna Baszler's main roster run, although you could really put any NXT graduate's name there and it would still be correct. Is there a more iconic duo in wrestling than WWE and disappointing main roster call-ups? I'll wait.

Despite the mess made of Baszler's run, one good thing the company has done is to keep her away from Asuka. A singles match between the two most dominant NXT Women's Champions in history is one of the few dream matches still available to WWE. It is kinda shocking that it hasn't been given away on a random episode of RAW or something.

Asuka Vs Shayna Baszler is going to happen at some point, and WWE will be well-advised to put a little more effort than usual into building towards it. The story writes itself so no worry there, and the actual match has the potential to be one of the best of the women's revolution era. Asuka is an elite-level worker while Baszler has proven to be more than capable of putting on captivating matches with the right opponent, and they don't come much more 'right opponent' than the Empress of Tomorrow.
