10 Biggest Misplaced Complaints About WWE Today

8. The Lack Of Traditional Draws

One of the biggest concerns surrounding WWE’s current talent roster is its lack of conventional draws. With Bill Goldberg and The Undertaker gone, Brock Lesnar and John Cena are the only two wrestlers you can throw into that category without question, but they’re both part-timers. WWE can only call on their popularity a certain number of times every year, and the days when the company could routinely rely on the likes of The Rock, Steve Austin, and Triple H to sell PPVs.

Though WWE’s lack of genuine star power is definitely an issue, the drawing power complaint is extremely outdated. The business has moved on from the PPV era, and with fewer fans consuming shows through this method than ever before, WWE no longer have to rely on individual wrestlers to boost buyrates. You’ve already paid for your Network subscription, and that’s all that matters to them.

In 2017, the company name is the real draw, not the wrestlers. Having a bunch of needle-moving superstars certainly wouldn’t hurt, but the company now recognise that their most ardent fans will keep supporting the product regardless of who is on top, thus reducing the need for traditional draws.
