10 Biggest Missed AEW Opportunities

With it looking like the split between Jamie Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. was finally coming at the recent Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite, there, with Baker, Serena Deeb and Rebel laying waste to Toni Storm and Athena, a steel chair-wielding Hayter ran to the ring to make what some would presume to be the save.

Instead, despite the simmering tension of prior weeks between Jamie and Britt, the powerhouse reiterated her allegiance to the Roll Model by joining in with this assault on the two babyfaces. That in itself led to the shocking AEW arrival of Saraya - which was a phenomenal moment - but it leaves Hayter a little in limbo.

Fans were all for Tony Khan pulling the trigger on a Jamie Hayter face turn and a rivalry with Baker that would've propelled the hugely talented former Stardom favourite up the card and into the women's main event scene. While she may still be involved in said main event picture, that'll be as Britt's lackey rather than as a standalone ass-kicking singles act.

Of course, AEW can always return to this idea and switch Hayter babyface down the line, but it remains to be seen whether the company will ever have as great a chance to do so as the one they've just missed.

On the plus side, mind, if Saraya is indeed cleared to wrestle, the prospect of her going up against her villainous fellow Brit is a hugely intriguing one.
