10 Biggest Missed Opportunities From The Undertaker's WWE Career

9. Missing WrestleMania 35

While The Undertaker has missed WrestleMania twice before (in 1994 and 2000), both of those absences were warranted as he was taking time off to rest and recover from nagging injuries. His unexpected absence from the card in 2019, however? That one felt completely unnecessary.

It would have been different if he had simply decided to call it quits or genuinely didn't want to compete at the event, but if you've watched his Last Ride documentary, you'll know that neither one of those two circumstances were the case. Instead, WWE had compiled a card that looked so strong on paper that they gave their biggest draw a well-earned WrestleMania rest.

It was fine, in theory, but looking back now, that doesn't exactly hold up as an excuse. Why? Well because the poor man had gotten himself in the best shape he had been in for years only to spend the whole night sitting behind the curtain looking miserable and wishing he was out there and Vince would then have him show up on Raw the following night for no reason whatsoever. Oh yeah, and then, he had him wrestle at Super ShowDown instead (in that controversial match against Goldberg).

None of this was worth breaking 'Taker's incredible record of 18 consecutive WrestleMania appearances/matches for, especially on a night when they only went and had Kurt Angle lose his retirement match against 'mystery' opponent Baron bloody Corbin - a slot that 'Taker could have easily filled. Fantastic booking there, WWE.
