10 Biggest "Out Of Left Field" WWE Booking Decisions

1. Vince McMahon Makes A Deal With The Devil (2002)

Raise your hand if you knew Eric Bischoff would arrive in WWE in July 2002, the new general manager of the brand. Put your damn hands down, you LIARS! The appearance by the former WCW President on Monday Night Raw was one of the most earth-shaking moments in professional wrestling history. After spending years leading the competition, guiding WCW in an attempt to defeat WWE and drive Vince McMahon out of business, Bischoff appeared alongside his business rival and shook his hand in a moment that made the devil shiver. Hell had frozen over and the wrestling world was in awe at the developments that were unfolding before their eyes. With ratings down and interest in the product waning, McMahon put personal feelings aside and reached out to Bischoff. He offered him a starring role on his television show, the same show that the former Turner executive once tried to run off the air, proving he has a strong business mind. The decision to debut Bischoff came from so far out of left field that it was just barely in the ball park. No one saw it coming and there sure as hell was no tease or suggestion that it could ever happen. No one in their right mind predicted the business relationship would ever come to be, nor could they have imagined that the two ego-driven businessmen would coexist under the same roof for four years. Still one of the most jaw-dropping moments in WWE history.
