8. Elaborate Turnbuckle Bumps By Flair, Perfect, HHH & Others
When a wrestler gets thrown hard towards a turnbuckle they usually just end up standing up in the corner. Sometimes they might bump straight down. Bret Hart sold it by taking the bump on his sternum and then falling back. Ric Flair always put a special twist on it. Flair did the turnbuckle spot in nearly every match. What he would do is put his hands on both sides of the middle rope by the turnbuckle, turn his body upside down and then go over the top. He'd follow that up by landing on his feet on the apron so that his opponent could give him a clothesline or a chop while he was on the apron. It was classic Flair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEHvZ3HpVV4 The bump that Mr. Perfect often took going into the turnbuckle was an upside down flip. It was his way of showing off. Before Dolph Ziggler doing things like that, there was Mr. Perfect. He was doing stuff that nobody else could do because he was such an amazing athlete. Triple H's turnbuckle corner bump was his way of paying tribute to Flair. Instead of going over the top and then walking along the apron, Hunter would grab the top rope and then spin around before landing on the floor. It was always an impressive looking spot. There are definitely others that have done turnbuckle spots too like Shawn Michaels, but it's those three that did them more than anybody.
