MVP didn’t reinvent himself so much as gradually evolve into the best version of himself. In his initial WWE run he wrestled well against the likes of Chris Benoit and Matt Hardy, but was stymied by a bit of a boring sports-themed gimmick that was never going to see him rise above a certain point.
His 2020 return was overshadowed by that of Edge, but the impact Montel Vontavious Porter has had on his second run shouldn’t be understated.
