10 Biggest Stories From IMPACT's Slammiversary And What They Mean Going Forward

6. BFG Bound For NYC

Slammiversary has long been a marquee event IMPACT, but the main annual showcase has always been Bound For Glory. During Sunday’s show, it was announced that the next edition of the show will take place in New York City. The Melrose Ballroom will house the event come 14 October.

Known primarily as an intimate and attractive live music space, the Ballroom has recently branched out into the world of wrestling. Major League Wrestling held recent television tapings there, and independent wrestler and promoter Joey Janela is scheduled to have an event there in the coming months too. Now, however, the focus falls on IMPACT Wrestling, who will utilize the space for BFG.

Although it may only be big enough for just over one-thousand fans, the venue's setup will undoubtedly help Bound For Glory feel special, as it's equipped with state-of-the-art monitors and LED boards as well as having perfected acoustics — all suited or IMPACT’s improved presentation and always rabid fanbase. Coincidentally, IMPACT is no stranger to the New York area — having held a live event on Long Island just last year, as well as numerous events throughout their past. However, this will be the first major pay-per-view in the company’s sixteen year history to take place within the city limits. Still, Bound For Glory is sure to take NYC by storm, and hopefully the entire wrestling world.
