9. Who Threw The Pie At Kevin Owens?
Despite being a comedic entry in this list, the mystery of "who threw the pie at Kevin Owens?" has baffled fans since that faithful night on the 4 July 2016 edition of RAW.
The pie-throwing incident occurred during a backstage food fight on RAW, which no doubt was designed to make Vince McMahon laugh. To close the humorous segment, it was revealed that Kevin Owens had managed to hide under the table for the entire duration of the food fight. As Owens was surveying the damage, a mystery individual threw a pie in the face of Owens.
The individual responsible is still a mystery to this very day. Even Tyler Breeze and Fandango, during an episode of The Fashion Files, couldn't solve the classic whodunnit.
However, in March 2020 some answers were offered from Owens himself. During an appearance on the AJ Awesome Show, Owens was asked who really threw the pie at him back in 2016. Owens stated that:
“The only answer I can give people is that in the end, even if it wasn’t him who physically did it, the one who ultimately threw the pie at me is Vince McMahon. Because he’s the one who decided that pie was going to hit me in the face. And he wasn’t there physically to do it, but he’s the one who made it happen. That would be the answer.”
