8. Kevin Owens Defeats John Cena

Another major shock from the 2015 PPV—and another that arrived in a non-Chamber match—was the outcome of Kevin Owens vs. John Cena.

This was of course Owens’ first match on the main roster, having announced his arrival a couple of weeks prior by interrupting Cena’s US Championship Open Challenge for the sole purpose of laying out the champ. That in itself was a huge break for Owens. Many saw this feud as a great opportunity for him to gain some high-profile exposure from working with the company’s leading star, although few actually thought he’d end up beating Cena.

Low and behold, that’s exactly what happened though, and in resoundingly emphatic fashion, too.

After a classic 20-minute showdown, Owens caught Cena with the pop-up powerbomb and promptly scored the 1-2-3. The preceding performance had been impressive enough, but given that this was Cena we were talking about, the idea of Owens emerging the victor had been almost unthinkable heading into the match.
