10 Biggest Surprises Of Triple H's WWE So Far

We knew things would be different but some of these things we didn't see coming.

It's been nearly three months since Triple H took the top job in WWE, as he was announced as WWE Head of Creative on 25 July.

It would be remiss of us not to highlight how this happened, as it wasn't a well earnt promotion; although the work he did to bring NXT to prominence was exceptional. It happened because countless stories of Vince McMahon paying large sums of money to women and making them sign NDAs rocked the company. McMahon, who looked set to be in the seat until his final breath, had to step down.

There is no arguing that the company now feels different.

Not just from a product perspective, but the backstage vibe as well. People seem happier. Subjectively, given your wrestling tastes, the matches are better and the storylines, for the most part, seem more logical. Things are improving across the board and that feeling, for the first time in a long time, has made watching WWE a positive experience.

It's certainly an exciting time to be a WWE fan, especially after the sludge of the past few years. There have been a lot of highs over the past few months, as well as some lows. Ultimately, there were a lot of things we did and didn't expect from Triple H's ascension in the company.

Some of these surprises have been absolutely inspired whilst others... well, let's start off with one of them shall we?

10. Some Of The Returns...

We will get onto the majority of the returns in a short while, but let's just call it as it is. Some of the superstars who have returned to WWE since Triple H haven't exactly set the world alight.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with The Game wanting to expand a roster that felt bereft and stale, and also reach out to those wrestlers that were either given short thrift or a raw deal over the past few years. Everyone deserves a chance, and for the most part, Trips has got it spot on.

There are, however, a few exceptions.

Firstly, was anyone really clamouring for the return of Hit Row? Even more so, was anyone even interested in the group without Isiah 'Swerve' Scott? Let's face it, Top Dolla, Ashanti Thee Adonis and B-Fab were just salad dressing to the steak that was Swerve, and since he is now excelling in All Elite Wrestling, was bringing back the other three really called for?

Likewise, Dexter Lumis. Sure, it's generating some pops with the crowd, but his daft storyline with The Miz is doing nothing more than babyfacing the most ignorant star on the roster. Lumis was a product of the pandemic era, where the fans weren't there to give genuine reactions.

Whilst they might pop for his creepy stare, they'll most likely be sleeping in their seats when he finally has a match. These returns might work out in the long run, but they were hardly missed by the fans to begin with.
