9. Alphas Versus Omegas
The opening contest on Smackdown was a squash match featuring WWE's newest tag team, American Alpha. The former NXT Tag Team Champions were unsurprisingly dominant over Mikey O'Shea and Mike Vega, picking up the win with their finisher, Grand Amplitude.
The match also served to hype Smackdown's upcoming tag team division, as before the bout, The Ascension, The Hype Bros, and The Vaudevillains all came out to watch the action. After the match, they all rushed the ring, with Jordan and Gable getting the best of the brawl.
It's clear that once Smackdown gets its own set of tag team titles, American Alpha is going to be immediately challenging for them, at the very least. Even though they just ran through three potential contenders, The Usos were not part of the brawl, and they seem like they could be Alpha's primary competition. Likewise, Breezango was protected, though that seems less necessary.
