Similar to Samoa Joe, the time for Kevin Steen to be brought into WWE was long overdue. He was one the independent scene's biggest and brightest stars for years, yet he had to be given his rightful shot at competing on the grand stage. More than likely, he would have never ended up in WWE had it not been for Triple H.

Steen has told the story before about how it was William Regal who scouted him and forced WWE officials to give him a look. However, they could have very well passed on him as "just another indie guy," but Triple H was among the few higher-ups who believed he could be something huge for the company, and he wasn't wrong.

To add to the ever-growing talent roster of NXT, Triple H enlisted the star power of Steen last summer and it was only a matter of time before he made his presence felt. Renamed Kevin Owens, he immediately made an impact upon his arrival, laying out everyone in his path of destruction before going on to capture the NXT Championship two months removed from his debut.

Only a few months later does Owens now find himself on the main roster with a clean win over John Cena under his belt. You can bet Triple H had a little something to do with that shocking outcome.
