10 Biggest Wasted Talents On The WWE Roster In 2017
3. Finn Bálor
Another man who seems to have been severely underused since his return is Finn Bálor.
The first ever Universal Champion, Bálor was on top of the wrestling world going into the championship bout at SummerSlam last year. Sadly, by the time he walked out, what should have been his crowning achievement in the wrestling industry was a nightmare scenario. A severe shoulder injury would see him surrender his newly won gold the very next night.
Despite winning the majority of his matches since his return in April, Bálor has appeared on only two PPV events. Even more bizarrely, he has yet to have a rematch for the Universal Championship. A 'David vs. Goliath' battle between Lesnar and Bálor at this year's SummerSlam would have been a poetic full-circle moment for the Irish star, even if it ended in defeat.
The ready-made storyline of the undefeated champ, looking to regain the gold he never lost, from his unstoppable successor screams PPV main event. Meanwhile, WWE's decision to ignore the highly-publicised "rematch clause" stipulation for World Championship losses is another questionable decision and one that defies booking logic. Lesnar vs. Bálor would be a marquee main event that fans the world over would want to see.
