10 Biggest Wasted Talents On The WWE Roster In 2017
2. Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan has expressed on a number of occasions that he longs to return to in-ring competition. Regardless of what WWE has to say on the subject, it seems that Bryan will be stepping back between the ropes one way or another.
WWE's insistence on fighting this is not going to endear themselves to Bryan. If he is truly sourcing alternate healing techniques to recoup his body, it would be wise for WWE to support him, rather than place roadblocks in his way. Surely a sporadic return to action under the watchful eye of WWE is far safer than an in-ring appearance outside, away from WWE's controlled environment of EMTs and healthcare experts. The company wouldn't be responsible for any harm that comes Bryan's way should he seek rings elsewhere, but questions may be asked of why they allowed him to walk in the first place.
Wrestling aside, Bryan's run as GM has also been hit and miss at times. While he is great in the role, it's clear to viewers that he isn't happy watching others perform, and playing middle-man in between match segments must be eating away at him inside. Years of training and travelling to read scripted lines backstage can't be fulfilling for the former champion.
Bryan was brilliant as colour analyst on the Cruiserweight Classic specials. 'The American Dragon' would be far better utilised in the role of expert commentator than simply as fictional authority figure. Using his knowledge and insight from his time in the ring would add a great deal to the product for viewers at home.
