10 Biggest WCW Crowd Reactions Ever

3. Hogan Gets Racked

When the New World Order began to dominate the landscape in WCW, it is easy to believe that the only forms of opposition came from Sting and eventually Diamond Dallas Page. This isn't the case, and the first man to truly dent the dastardly faction was a man who would eventually become a member: Lex Luger. On an episode of Monday Nitro Luger faced 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Championship, a title that Hogan had held for a week short of a year.

Somehow Luger managed to kick out of Hogan's leg drop, a rare enough occurrence for the crowd to pop big for that alone. The Total Package avoided a second big leg, and as the nWo vultures began to swarm the ring Luger was quick enough to dispatch them one by one.

The writing was on the wall for Hogan, and as Luger got him up in the Torture Rack it wasn't long before Hollywood tapped out and the title came back to WCW. The crowd went crazy, and it was a real moment of triumph for Lex Luger and WCW. The babyface locker room emptied to celebrate with the new champion, who in typical Monday Night Wars fashion dropped the belt back to Hogan a week later.
