10 Biggest WrestleMania 33 Missed Opportunities

1. Maintaining Bray Wyatt’s Momentum

Just when it looked like WWE had finally figured out how to make the most of Bray Wyatt, they dropped the ball again. His feud with Randy Orton returned to its hokey old ways when The Viper burned the Wyatt Family Compound to the ground, and Bray reverted to his babbling worst. WWE could have undone all this had they presented him strongly at WrestleMania, but they went down the opposite route, and left Wyatt looking weaker than ever.

Mania represented the absolute worst of Wyatt’s character. He used his goofy supernatural powers to project maggots and cockroaches onto the mat with the aim of unsettling Orton, but it failed. Randy overcame Bray’s biggest advantage, took his championship cleanly, and left Orlando with a huge chunk of Bray’s mystique under his arm.

It was a complete shambles, and another setback for the Eater of Worlds. Becoming WWE Champion should have propelled him to new heights, but losing it in such a manner has knocked him right back to square one. Beating Orton would have been a huge feather in Bray’s cap, and elevated him immensely: instead, this match goes down as WrestleMania 33’s biggest missed opportunity.
