10 Biggest WrestleMania Lies

3. The Rock Vs. John Cena "Once In A Lifetime"

There is no match in the history of WrestleMania that received a longer build up than The Rock vs. John Cena. It was announced on the Raw after WrestleMania 27 that they have The Rock face Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 28. Great. It was a huge match and smart of WWE to build it up for the year. The promotion of the match featured four words: "Once In A Lifetime." That was WWE's way of telling us that this match was only going to happen once. Enjoy it now because it's never happening again! They lied. Oh yeah they lied. They knew the plan all along and they were going to have another match a year later. The Rock confirmed it after their WrestleMania 29 match, which was when The Rock dropped the WWE Title to Royal Rumble winner John Cena. The whole thing was part of a three year plan. At WrestleMania 27, Rock screwed Cena out of the WWE Title at WrestleMania (Cena won it soon after anyway), then at WrestleMania 28 Rock won clean in the main event and then at WrestleMania 29 it was Cena's turn to win, this time for the WWE Title. Promoting shows is important. They knew "Once in a Lifetime" would be a big draw and it was. However, when they made it obvious a year later that it was happening again it frustrated fans a lot because they wanted something different. Maybe they should have added CM Punk to the match to make it different because the same old thing felt like a waste of time.
