10 Highest Grossing Movies Starring WWE Stars

6. Trainwreck (2015) - $110,038,130

Featuring: John Cena

John Cena is another victim of WWE Studios and their painfully average movies. He starred in the first movie from the studio, The Marine, back in 2006, and though it made a little money, it was clearly not going to make the Cenation leader a movie star.

After Cena took time off from WWE to film three other, equally as unimaginitive, WWE Studio films (12 Rounds, Legendary and The Reunion) it seemed like he had given up and decided to just stick to wrestling. Then in 2014, he took some time away to film some scenes in Amy Schumer€™s newest movie, Trainwreck.

In the film, The Champ convincingly plays Amy€™s muscle-head boyfriend and is engaging, funny and steals the show the all too few scenes he's involved in. From a shouting match with a man in the cinema who calls him Mark Wahlberg to a cringeworthy sex scene, Cena did a great job in the movie and got praise from critics on his role as Steven.

Approaching 40 years old, perhaps the lure of Hollywood will be too much for John Cena. He has an upcoming part in Tina Fey€™s new movie Sisters, which comes out this Christmas and could be the beginning of a new career for the man who has pretty much accomplished everything you could want to in wrestling.

Does a new challenge beckon for John Cena on the silver screen?
