Mick Foley joined ECW as part of a talent exchange with full-time employer WCW in 1994, and he'd end up p*ssing WCW off with one memorable promo. During one of his tirades, a series of skits which helped Cactus Jack come into his own as a character again, Foley spat all over the WCW Tag-Team Title belt.

Ric Flair was not best-pleased.

He couldn't believe that a company-contracted talent would disrespect one of the title belts that way (keep that in mind) when he was working elsewhere. After covering the shiny championship in globs of his own saliva, Mick tossed it to the ground. It was clear that he was making a point about moving on from WCW's corporate structure.

WCW didn't care. To them, this was a slap in the face and something nobody on the roster should even think about doing. Eric Bischoff ended up releasing Foley, and not only because of this one incident. He'd grown alarmed by Mick's big-bumping style and reluctance to rein it in too.
