Get ready for an entire nation's favourite event. The one that British fans never stop talking about, SummerSlam 1992 is the only major WWE pay-per-view to take place outside of North America or Canada.
The event was meant to be at Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, but WWE realised how popular wrestling was in the United Kingdom and moved it to the biggest venue in the land.
With the change to the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium came a different main event. Bret "Hitman" Hart Vs. "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith was rightfully given top billing in front of 78,927 fans (and not 80,355). Everybody wanted the Bulldog to win, except the chairman. It was Bret who finally convinced Vince to put the UK's own Smith over to end the show. God bless you Mr. Hart.
The image of Davey Boy holding the Intercontinental Championship over his head alongside Diana Hart and the "Hitman" is one of the most iconic in SummerSlam history; it's scandalous that it took another 30 years for WWE to host a show of this size in the UK again...
Away from the hometown glory, The Ultimate Warrior defeated "Macho Man" Randy Savage by disqualification in a WWE Championship match, while the Legion of Doom had their last match in a WWE ring for five years.
