8. Owen Hart On Bret Hart

At Royal Rumble 1994, Bret and Owen Hart competed in a tag team match which ended when the referee decided Bret's knee injury meant he could not continue. The baffling match ending was soon forgotten as Owen turned on his brother and kicked him in his damaged knee.

Owen's explanation came in a backstage interview immediately afterwards. "I thought I had the best brother in the world, my own brother, but you're too selfish, Bret! You're too damn selfish!'

The camera switched to Bret being helped out of the ring towards the Titantron as Owen continued to rave. It was a powerful moment of sibling betrayal, one that only a significant snafu could ruin.

"I coulda won that match! I don't need you out there with a bad leg, Bret. You're too damn selfish. And that's why you're sitting there with a bad leg. And that's why I kicked your leg outta your leg."

Confusion and dismay crossed Owen's face as he realised that snafu had indeed occurred. Kicking Bret's leg out of his leg became a cruel asterisk against Owen's reputation as an excellent character and promo guy, and the wrestling world had a good laugh at his expense.
