10 Biggest WWE Creative Mistakes Of 2016

8. Enzo & Lana

The past few weeks have seen WWE push their PG rating to the absolute limit with Enzo Amore. It kicked-off a few weeks ago when Enzo decided that it was perfectly acceptable to parade around naked in front of another man’s wife, before Rusev showed-up and squashed him like a bug. Things escalated with a hotel room rendezvous last week: Lana lured the gullible Enzo in, and Rusev sprung the trap.

Last night’s Raw saw Big Cass take to the ring to stand up for his perverted buddy, but the motivations are all over the place. Enzo has been dead wrong since day one, and it’s impossible to feel sympathy for him, even after the hotel room brawl. Rusev, once again, has done nothing more than stand up for his and his wife’s honour, yet fans are expected to believe that he’s the villain in all this.

The angle is a flashback to the Attitude Era’s very worst moments, and the sooner it concludes, the better. It paints Enzo and Cass in a completely unlikeable light, and Rusev, once again, comes-off as Raw’s most valiant babyface. Maybe we’ll get a decent hoss fight between Rusev and Cass out of it, but that’s the absolute best we can hope for at this point.
