10 Biggest WWE News Items Of 2014

5. Sting Finally Appears In WWE

The rumors of Sting joining WWE started way back in 2001 when WWE bought WCW. Most of us figured it was just a matter of time for WCW's biggest name to go to WWE because there were dream matches he could have and a lot of money could be made for everybody involved. Instead, he stayed away. At the start of 2014, there was the news that his TNA career was over and he was ready to move on. He likely talked to WWE a lot earlier in the year, but they just couldn't agree on the right time. He was part of the WWE 2K15 video game and he had a new action figure. When was he going to debut? We didn't know. Sting's appearance at Survivor Series a couple of weeks was leaked online a few days earlier. That was probably done on purpose by WWE to create some buzz. It worked. Sting showed up at Survivor Series, received a huge ovation from the fans, had a long staredown with Triple H and then dropped him with a Scorpion Deathdrop. Then he put Dolph Ziggler on top of Seth Rollins to give the good guys (Team Cena) the win because Sting is the ultimate good guy. We don't know when we're going to see Sting again, but we should all be able to agree that his debut was a huge moment in WWE this year.
