10 Biggest WWE Upset Wins

7. Santino Defeats Umaga For IC Title - Raw

WWE.comWWE.comThis match helped inspire this list because with Santino Marella retiring this week it got us thinking about some of the more memorable moments of his career. There may not have been a moment as good as his debut on Raw on April 16, 2007. Santino was picked out of the crowd as a fan that was set to take on Umaga for the Intercontinental Title. After it looked like Santino could actually put up a fight, Vince McMahon (in support of Umaga) announced it was a No Holds Barred match. Once the stipulation became official the fun started. Bobby Lashley, who was feuding at the time, entered the ring to save poor Santino. He gave Umaga a slam off the top rope, then a clothesline, a chair shot to the head and a devastating Spear. Lashley put Santino on top for the pin and that led to this unknown newcomer becoming the new Intercontinental Champion in front of his "home" fans in Italy. It was a very unique angle that worked really well and was definitely one of the most shocking upset wins in WWE history.
