Like Jericho, Goldberg's debut in the WWE was full of impact. Unlike Y2J, however, he didn't have to wait years to defeat the Rock. The WCW icon dominated their feud from start to finish, from spearing the Brahma Bull the night after WrestleMania 19 to comprehensively defeating him in a near-squash at Backlash. A rare instance of the WCW worker being put over strongly, Goldberg's decimation of the Rock is certainly an exception to the usual rule of these clashes - particularly those booked by Vince McMahon and his team. Ultimately, however, Goldberg's run in the WWE would be short-lived and disappointing. It also ended in disgrace, facing off with Brock Lesnar at one of the worst-received matches in WrestleMania history.
