9. The "Huckster" vs. The "Nacho Man"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sCTi31Z2jA The early days of the Monday Night War featured the companies taking shots at each other on television, sometimes entertaining the viewer and sometimes making the viewer wonder what the hell was going on. WCW began to run a series of video packages showing current WWF stars as jobbers in WCW. Each time, the WWF wrestler would lose in embarrassing fashion, showing how much better the WCW stars were. Vince McMahon responded in possibly the most juvenile way possible: He created Billionaire Ted's Wrasslin' Warroom. The skits featured senior citizens portraying Randy Savage ("The Nacho Man"), Hulk Hogan ("The Huckster"), and a parody of Gene Okerlund known as "Scheme Gene". The skits also featured a bumbling idiot playing the part of Ted Turner, aka "Billionaire Ted". The early video packages mocked Savage and Hogan for being old, calling them has-beens from the 1980s. The "Nacho Man" responded by saying "Who are you calling a has-been, brother? Besides, I started wrestling in the 70s! Not the 80s!" While that may have classified as mildly amusing, the Billionaire Ted character did not. The skits went from lighthearted to mean-spirited, making comments about Turner that could have resulted in a lawsuit since they bordered on slander. USA president Kay Koplovitz ordered Vince McMahon to stop airing the segments immediately, which they did but not after one last presentation. The "Nacho Man" faced off against the "Huckster" in a match on the preshow of Wrestlemania XII. Billionaire Ted served as the guest referee while Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler provided commentary in the style of Mystery Science Theater 3000. In the end, both wrestlers "died" after an intentionally terrible match and Billionaire Ted had a heart attack at seeing a representative of the FTC. Thankfully, that would be the last we saw of Billionaire Ted's Wrasslin' Warrrom.
