10 Most Blatantly Obvious Blade Jobs In Wrestling History
7. The Rock - WrestleMania 17
The most electrifying man in sports entertainment is not immune to blatant blade jobs. Like Chris Jericho, The Rocks issue lies not so much with the actual cutting as it does with pulling the blade itself. In his match with Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 17, the Rock can be seen being handed a razor blade by referee Earl Hebner not once but twice. The first occurs at 13:30 after the Rock slams Austin's head against the ring bell and then turns to yell at Hebner. During the quick exchange, Hebner can clearly be seen placing something in The Rocks right hand. Austin then promptly busts Rock open with the ring bell. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x17ea80_wwe-wrestlemania-17-the-rock-vs-stone-cold-steve-austin_sport The second exchange is even more obvious and occurs at 22:32. After being hit by a tv monitor, The Rock falls on his back and Hebner places a blade in his right hand. The Rock rolls over and appears to study the blade for a second before the cameraman realizes whats happening and pans to Austin. By the time the camera pans back, the Rock's face is covered by his arm. The next time we get a good look at the brahma bulls face, he has significantly more blood dripping from it, thus making him the only performer on our list to blade twice (and get caught twice) in the same match.
Yes, my last name is pronounced exactly as it's spelled. Just like "going to the store". ;) I am an aspiring writer currently working on my first novel, which is GOING to be awesome once it's published. (See what I did there?) I love reading, am a HUGE film buff (who welcomes all trivia challenges), and never miss a New York Giants football game. I'm an open book so if there is anything else you'd like to know about me, just ask.
