10 Blockbuster Returns WWE STILL Haven't Done Yet

3. AJ Lee

Sting WWE Return

That AJ Lee left the wrestling business years before her prime is a great shame. An even bigger one is that she walked away from WWE prior to the Women's (R)Evolution kicking in, leaving untold amounts of money on the table.

Lee was 28 when she bid WWE adieu, making her one of the few performers to leave the business on her own terms. More power to her for that. There were spinal issues too, though her retirement had more to do with Lee having no more pro-wrestling goals left to fulfil and the constant tug-of-war between her employers and husband (CM Punk). She has gone out of her way to dismiss return rumours since departing, even tweeting that she was "very retired" in December 2019, and generally seems happy and fulfilled away from the squared circle. Again, a return seems unlikely - but shouldn't be ruled out entirely.

A performer far above her division's average throughout her WWE, Lee would fit today's scene like a glove. Fresh matches with the company's biggest and brightest await if AJ can ever be convinced to return.
