10 Bold AEW Predictions For 2024
3. Britt Baker Joins WWE
Although Britt Baker has recently alluded to the fact that she will gladly “pick up the pieces” of the AEW Women’s division if necessary, it is worth bearing in mind that she has openly taken issue with her lack of television time in the past.
Now, this isn’t to say that comments on social media are gospel - far from it - but the booking of the women’s division on AEW programming has been notably lacklustre in recent times. It’s not outlandish to suggest that Baker may take interest in the excellent portrayal of WWE’s top female stars such as Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky and Nia Jax, and be open to a similar presentation for her own character.
Of course, with her husband in one of the most prominent storylines in AEW history with the Undisputed Kingdom, as well as continuing to pursue her own career as a dentist, it may be logical to stay put in AEW. However, the allure of decent creative, high-profile matches and a hefty paycheck would surely be enough for Baker to hear Triple H out. With Jade Cargill already making a headline move over to WWE, it isn’t out of the picture to suggest that another of AEW’s top performers might jump ship.
With one departure, however, there could be another big name that could fill a Britt Baker-sized hole in the women’s division…
