10 Booking Decisions WWE Should Make Before WrestleMania 39
5. Drew McIntyre Heel Turn
Since returning to WWE for his second run in 2017, Drew McIntyre has proven that all of the hype surrounding him earlier on in his career was worth it. He became NXT Champion, won the Royal Rumble, and headlined WrestleMania where he finally won the WWE Championship, becoming the first Brit to do so.
Unfortunately, Drew's big moment came under the cloud of the pandemic, where he carried the torch for the company through a more than a serviceable title run under awful circumstances. Since then the 'Scottish Warrior' has not been pushed to the same level despite leading the charge for the successful Clash at the Castle event where he came up short against Roman Reigns.
At this point, it is likely that McIntyre may need a character overhaul to reach the top of the card once more, as his babyface act has been growing stale for some time. His recent losses against Reigns and Karrion Kross would suggest that the company is heading this way anyway, which would allow for him to be written off by a returning Bray Wyatt in an ideal piece of booking.
After a while, the Scotsman can return as a vicious heel figure to challenge for World Titles and be a believable contender for a long time.
