10 Booking Steps AEW Must Make Following Double Or Nothing 2021

4. Push The Inner Circle And The Pinnacle Towards Championship Success

There is no reason to continue the Inner Circle vs. Pinnacle story arc coming out of Double or Nothing. Not one.

That the Chris Jericho-helmed stable wasn't split up at the pay-per-view indicates that AEW clearly have something planned for them. That something should be championship dominance. The Pinnacle should follow suit, although not in the same direction. It's crucial that the two sides are kept apart as much as possible to make it all that more impactful when MJF retires 'Le Champion'.

The Inner Circle will split up at some point, but before that, there has to be a point where they all hold championships at the same time. Not the World Championship, though; Sammy Guevara could be a solid TNT Champion, Ortiz and Santana should become World Tag Team Champions, and the group as a whole must be the inaugural Trios Champions when they're introduced. AEW must pull the trigger on this by 31 December.

A similar route should play out for the Pinnacle, only with MJF reaching the mountain as an eventual World Champion. For now, perhaps a TNT Championship would suffice for 'The Salt Of The Earth', with FTR becoming two-time World Tag Team Champions, and the Freebird Rule seeing them all as Trios Champions.

Speaking of those three-man titles...
