If WWE were to announce a Tag-Team Title match for the show, the Royal Rumble would suddenly become an even more enticing card. There's no solid reason why such a bout shouldn't be booked, because it could provide the event with a great opening match, for example. The Usos vs. The New Day still needs to happen on pay-per-view, without other teams (like The Lucha Dragons) there to muddy the waters. After teaming with Chris Jericho to defeat their rivals on Monday Night Raw, Jimmy and Jey would throw out the challenge to the champions for the yearly show. At first, The New Day clearly wouldn't be receptive, wondering why they need to put their titles on the line. This would prompt Stephanie McMahon to emerge and state that she 'hates to do this', but The Usos are #1 contenders and thus deserve a shot. If WWE choose, this could even lead to a situation whereby The Usos are forced to void entrance into the Royal Rumble if they take the title shot. This would mean they couldn't even attempt to aid Roman Reigns in his efforts to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It's little touches like this that add meaning to stories.
