10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (Jan 18)

5. Kalisto Defeats 'King' Barrett

There's a chance that Kalisto's minor push will stall following his WWE United States Title loss to Alberto Del Rio on Smackdown. It seems that WWE's creative team were merely experimenting with the diminutive masked man more than anything, and he may find himself shunted down the pecking order quickly. One alternative would be to keep plugging away with him. 'King' Barrett returned on Smackdown and helped Del Rio regain the gold from one half of The Lucha Dragons. Naturally, this would lead to a challenge from Kalisto for Barrett on Raw. It could make for a fine, competitive match. If WWE book Kalisto to win it, he'd be back on the proverbial saddle, rather than becoming an afterthought. Del Rio could even be involved in the finish, unfortunately serving to cost his League Of Nations stable mate the match. In WWE-land, Kalisto - much like Rey Mysterio before him - will always probably be an underdog. There's nothing wrong with that if WWE portray him correctly, he shouldn't just revert back to losing matches.
