10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (Nov 30)

9. Get Back On Track Following Filler Overkill

Monday Night Raw was completely stacked with filler-like material and matches. Segments such as having Heath Slater drone on before being battered by Ryback are unlikely to lead to anything, so it all felt a little pointless. Every now and then, WWE have one of these shows, but they shouldn't make a habit of it. It's understandable that things have been thrown up in the air a little by injuries to the likes of Seth Rollins and Cesaro, but there was just too much incidental nonsense on Raw. The promotion have shown that they can present enjoyable 3-hour editions of the program, but they need to display more of a game plan between now and TLC. There are only a few weeks before the Pay-Per-View, after all. Ryback vs. Heath Slater isn't realistically going to be on the show, so Monday felt like a wasted week for WWE in that regard. There's an argument to be made that not everything needs to build towards a PPV match, but the time could have been allotted to the short Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks match. The announcers could have talked up the competitive nature of the Divas division, developing a story. The coming episode definitely needs to steer clear of filler.
