10 Burning Questions For WWE Backlash 2018

1. Will This Be A Placeholder Show?

Given its placement four weeks after WrestleMania and nine days after Greatest Royal Rumble, there’s a very real chance that nothing hugely of note will happen on Sunday.

The Universal Championship won’t be defended, and neither tag title is up for grabs. Two of the matches are between wrestlers on separate brands, so they shouldn’t have any more interactions after Sunday. Throw in a lackluster build, and you have to wonder if this really is just a show for show’s sake.

In years past, the first PPV after WrestleMania can be really, really good, or it can just be a rehash of what just happened at ‘Mania. Backlash might be a good show, but will it be memorable? Will we be talking about what happened at it for the next few weeks, or will it be forgotten by the time SmackDown ends on Tuesday night?

We’ll find out shortly.
