9. Will Apollo Crews Show Personality?
OK, to those of you who don’t watch NXT regularly, what can you say about Apollo Crews? What does he stand for? What’s appealing about him?
What kind of person is he? It’s tough to continually knock Crews, a mega-talented wrestler who is destined for big things in WWE if things fall into place. He absolutely deserves a solid shot on the main roster.
However, the questions that keep cropping up about Apollo are becoming troubling. Of all the NXT arrivals since WrestleMania, we know the least about Crews in terms of personality and character. Enzo & Cass are self-explanatory. The Vaudevillains are full of character, even if it’s strange. Baron Corbin is a loner who is hellbent on beating up Dolph Ziggler right now. And though they didn’t spend a day in NXT, the Bullet Club has shown a lot of character development and intrigue since debuting.
But Crews? He smiles and beats up jobbers. And that’s fine for now. He’s impressive as hell in the ring and can wow audiences. But if Apollo doesn’t get a chance to show more of who he is, what he does won’t matter as much. Hopefully, he’ll start to show more of himself on Monday.
