10 Candidates For WWE's Upcoming Women's Tournament
8. Mary Dobson
'Crazy' Mary Dobson is an accomplished independent star, but she's best known for competing in deathmatches. Trained by Mad Man Mondo and Mickie Knuckles, she was well-prepared for the more violent side of wrestling, but it hasn't stopped her from carving out a reputation as a talented wrestler and a great all-rounder.
In 2015, Dobson defeated Knuckles for the Resistance Pro Wrestling Women's Championship, a belt she has defended several times and continues to hold. Her matches against the likes of LuFisto and Candice LeRae have gotten her noticed, and her profile continues to rise in the sport.
Dobson also has an advantage over the other candidates on this list, as she's already employed by WWE. The company signed her over the summer, though she has yet to debut on NXT (apart from her tryout matches). It's possible that the Women's Classic tournament can be her "coming out party", much as the Cruiserweight Classic was for Rich Swann.
