10 Candidates For WWE's Bizarre Post-WrestleMania 38 Push

2. Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander is doing precisely f*ck all on WWE television right now.

He's being 50/50 booked across RAW and Main Event, but then, Jinder Mahal was doing jobs all over the place before he was rocket-strapped towards the WWE Title in 2017, so it's not as if anything means anything in this company. Vince McMahon expects you to forget about everything that has already happened. Per Brian Gewirtz on the Ruthless Aggression documentary, he thought you'd forget that a Steve Austin Vs. Brock Lesnar TV match happened. He thinks you are a goldfish. He literally thinks you have fins. In his defence, some WWE fans hated the treacherous Cody four weeks ago, so...

On the surface, Alexander doesn't seem like a performer WWE has much use for, particularly in this Nick Khan/Bruce Prichard era. He is outstanding between the ropes at his best, but lacks the pizzazz and the height savoured by decision-makers.

He does however have a distinctive voice - which is somewhat abrasive - and this may well hold the key to a silly chapter in his career, as is April/May tradition. WWE loves cheap, relentless heat - excuse me if that reads as biased - and Alexander as a result may "benefit" from some mean-spirited booking!
