10 Career-Making Wrestling Matches
7. Shawn Michaels Vs. Razor Ramon (WWF WrestleMania X)
So good was the Ladder Match between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X, that the company decided to do it all over again come SummerSlam 1995. That match was good, but it wasn't the one that helped put the 'Heart Break Kid' on the main event radar. That honour would go to the 'Mania X battle.
By 1994, Michaels had for a few years shown that he was a superb performer. Striking out on his own in 1991, he wouldn't immediately hit great heights. There's a myth usually perpetuated by WWE that the man became an instant success story. In truth, it'd take him a few years.
1994 was the year when Vince McMahon seemed to realise the incredible piece of talent he had on his hands. At 'Mania X, Shawn was the undoubted star of the match between he and Scott Hall. As Razor, Hall played his part, but there was a magnetism to the performance of Michaels that couldn't be denied.
Even though Ramon emerged victorious, everyone was talking about the dynamic in-ring graft of his opponent.
